Affection of Asymmetric IGV on Resonance in the Rotor of Axial Compressor
the asymmetric Inlet guide vane (IGV) can increase the performance of the axial compressor. A 2D unsteady CFD program is used to explain this. But the asymmetric IGV make the downstream rotor a different dynamic response. Based on CFD result and FEM the difference is studied. The Campbell diagram change when it is used in asymmetric IGV, the reason is analyzed by a simple model in the way of Fourier series. The result illuminate the proper number of areas can avoid resonance.
