An Empirical Study on the Credibility of Network Public Crisis Information
By adopting the questionnaire-survey method, through variance analysis and correlation analysis, this study explores the credibility of various types of network public crisis information evaluated by Netizen and its differences, and investigates the correlation among network public crisis information credibility, Netizens network experiences, Netizens trust propensity and demographic variables. The result shows that: (1) the credibility of both government information and media information are greater than that of information released by ordinary Netizen; (2) the credibility produced in both earthquake relief stage and post-earthquake reconstruction stage are greater than that produced in pre-earthquake stage; (3) the credibility of network news is significantly greater than that of both forum information and instant messages; (4) the credibility of network public crisis information evaluated by Netizen has significant correlations with Netizens network experiences and trust propensity, but the age and gender of Netizen.
