The Aerodynamic Design and Aeroacoustics Estimation of High-lift for Civil Transportation

In nowadays,a good high-lift device means not only excellent aerodynamic properties and low structure weight but also exposure lower noise level to accord with the standard of FAA. Hence, the aeroacoustics estimation is necessary during the aerodynamic design of the high-lift system. In this Paper, the high-lift system with both leading edge device and trailing edge device are designed in 2-D based on a supercritical airfoil. The gap and overlap of slat and flap for landing condition is optimized by Panel method firstly, and then be verified by CFD method. Compared with the aerodynamic characteristic of clean supercritical airfoil, the design objective is achieved according to the maximum of lift coefficient and the stall angle. The multi-airfoils with slat and main are calculated to get the aeroacoustics level. The noise source location, frequency spectrum and the directivity pattern at eight degree angle of attack are obtained by unsteady RANS analysis and FFT (Fast Fourier Transform ). The information about the noise source is obtained to carry on the noise control in the future.
