The Method for Evaluating Aircraft Operational Lateral Noise Levels

The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China has issued the Noise Standards: Aircraft Type and Airworthiness Certification, but the procedure evaluating the lateral noise levels of aircraft is unsure. This paper mainly analyzed procedure of computing aircraft noise levels, including using Least Squares Method curve fitting to determine the maximum EPNL. After studying the lateral noise certification procedure and using Access and Delphi, the software of evaluating the lateral noise levels of aircraft was developed. The software can be used to compute and determine the maximum lateral EPNL and the lateral noise measurement point.
