A Feasible Method of Improving Utilization of the Frequency Resource of Communications Satellite
A familiar problem in satellite communications is the frequency restriction, especially in the period when business increase and change frequently, which will burden the management of satellite frequency resource and reduce the financial income of communication business. The channel bandwidth of satellite communication business is calculated according to the standard rules for many years; nowadays the performance of the new communication equipments has been greatly improved, so considering the calculation, the demands of users and the effect of practice, the bandwidth for different rates of datatransfer business can be reduced reasonably. A new method is advanced to assign the accurate bandwidth for each user with different demands, and the frequency resource of communications satellite will be used more efficiently. This new method is being practiced in one satellite traffic-of-center, the quantity of the business has been increased about 10% more than before, and all of the business run as well as anticipated with a smaller bandwidth.
