A Study on System-Level Power Management in View of STM32

The development of embedded systems for low-power has become one of the key technologies in embedded applications which has been the most concerned problem in the design of embedded systems recently. The goal of low-power embedded system design is to reduce system power consumption as far as possible on the assumption of the meet of consumers demands for performance. STM32 is a 32-bit chip based on ARM Cottex M3 core, which is elaborated to achieve high system performance for embedded applications with the sensitivity to power and cost. This paper mainly discussed the design of operation system in development for power management in embedded system, and the operation system was particularly manufactured for STM32 differing from other real-time operating system with higher portability. The operation system with regard to STM32 has adopted two technologies. DPM and DFS, and fully reflected the superiority of STM32 in low power and real-time capabilitie.
