An Accelerating Method of Aircraft Fatigue Spectrum with the Equivalent Damage

The acceleratingmethod is used for cutting down numbers of load cases and cycles of the original fatigue spectrum in an aircraft component fatigue test. Two methods are compared in this research. One is the relative Miner theory equation; the other is based on fatigue analysis of detail elements. The latter one shows more accurate. An equivalent factor is introduced to compare the damage of two spectrums. The factor is calculated by comparing analytical fatigue damage of detail elements due to different spectrums. The equivalent factor and the accelerated spectrum are used in the fatigue test And seventyfour load cases are simplified to two load cases. The load is applied more precisely. The three-quarter loading cycles are reduced. The period of the test is shortened and the cost is saved.
