Pulse wave signal baseline wander elimination using morphology
Pulse wave signals contain a large number of physiological and pathological information of people. The analysis of them is an important method to diagnose the status of sub-health. When pulse wave signals are detected from body respiration, they may be frequently corrupted due to the baseline wander. It will lead to serious effect on the analysis and the processing of signals in further steps. In order to remove the baseline wander, this paper proposes a morphological filtering approach in mathematical morphology by combining open-closing and close-opening operations with different size structuring elements. The experimental results have shown that this approach can effectively and instantly eliminate baseline wander in pulse wave signals.
