Energy Normalized Cross-Correlation Constant Modulus Algorithm in a MIMO Convolutive System
The joint goals of blind equalization and source separation in multipath MIMO systems in the presence of delay spread can be achieved by employing the combined crosscorrelation (CC) and constant modulus algorithm (CMA), a.k.a. the CC-CMA. It is believed that the output energy will inevitably be scaled down due to the non-zero contribution of the CC term. No elegant remedy to the scaling problem presently exists. We mathematically derive this scaling factor and subsequently propose a simple method to restore the output energy back to unity by modifying the dispersion constant of the CC-CMA. We verified our analytical claims with supportive simulation results.
