Empirical analysis on the relationship between Safety attitude and Safety investment of small and medium-sized enterprises

Insufficient safety investment is a major cause of frequent accidents in the small and medium-sized enterprises, and attitudes have a positive impact on behavior. In this paper, structural equation model about the effects of safety attitudes on safety investment behavior is constructed and assumptions are made based on the literature review and theoretical analysis. The safety investment behavior is divided into three dimensions, namely, safety training behaviors, safety prevention behavior and routine safety management behavior. 867 employees from 160 SMEs across the country were effectively researched. The empirical analysis illustrates that safety attitude of SMEs is significant positive correlation with all the three dimensions of safety investment. On this basis, suggestions on the safety management practices for SMEs are made.
