Effective Approaches to Conflict Management in the Engineering Project
Conflict is a process in which one party perceives that its interests are being opposed or negatively affected by another party. Some partners experienced conflict because they saw each other as competitors vying for the same scarce resources on projects where they had to work interdependently. This paper looks at the dynamics of conflict in organizational settings. We begin by discussing the sources of conflict in organizational settings. Eight conflict management styles are then described, followed by a discussion of the effective approaches to conflict management. The last two sections of this paper introduce two procedures for resolving conflict: negotiation and third-party resolution. This paper presents you effective approaches to conflict management in the engineering project.
