Logistics Infrastructure, Access to Market and the Development of Agricultural Markets in China: Theoretical and Positive Analysis
Logistics infrastructure is the key point to the development of agricultural markets by the opportunities of entering markets in order to influence the market demand and supply. So its improvement is related to the pace of the development of agricultural markets. On the basis of theoretical analysis, this paper examines the role of logistics infrastructure on agricultural markets, including vegetables market, aquatic products market, meat poultry and eggs market, dried and fresh fruits market and grain and oil market. Using data from 1978-2008, we obtained the following main conclusions:(1) Logistics infrastructure has a significant positive effect on the development of agricultural markets; (2) The influence of logistics infrastructure on the development of agricultural markets has the asymmetry. These finds carry some important policy implications.
