Investigation and Analysis of Tree Species Diversity in Green Belt of Residential District in Yinchuan

With typical sampling methods, the paper studied the tree species diversity in green belt of residential districts in Yinchuan, surveying the tree species, quantity, and their growth condition grown in nine residential districts. The results showed that there are 57 tree species in all 9 districts, of which, 7 species are conifer trees and 50 species are broad leaf tree species. The ratio of arbor tree species to shrub species tree species is 1.38:1, and the ratio of broad leaf tree species to evergreen tree species is 6.13:1. The diversity values of arbor trees are higher than that of shrubs. Picea crassifolia, Salix babylonica, Ligustrum quihoui, Sophor japonica Var. pendoula, Robinia pseudoacacia, Sophora japonica, Prunus triloba, Syringa oblata all show good growth condition in the districts that are largely used in the local residential green area. According to the result of systemic cluster analysis, all green belts of nine districts were divided into three groups: abundant tree species diversity(Ⅰ), moderate tree species diversity(Ⅱ), and deficient tree species diversity(Ⅲ). It was concluded that the domestic tree species show excellent growth condition and should be used quite often, and more shrubs should be planted at local residential green areas to increase the shrub species diversity and ecological benefit.
