The Influence of Noise Type on the Stochastic Resonance of Climate Change

Noise plays an important role in stochastic resonance theory, but the influence of noise type is not discussed specifically. In this paper, four types of noise (Gaussian white noise, uniform white noise, Gaussian red noise and uniform red noise) are introduced in Benzis stochastic resonance model and compared. No matter what kind of noise, the results show that the stochastic resonance occurrence are only related with the intensity of noise, but have nothing to do with the probability density function or the spectral density of the noise. The choice of noise type will not affect the results in stochastic resonance related works.
