The Evolvement of Educational Equality in Shaanxi-Based on the Gini coefficient and the Theil index

摘要：

This paper used the gap analysis tools of statistics, including the Gini coefficient and the Theil index to carry on the empirical research about the education equality in Shaanxi from 1997 to 2008 basing on the mean years of schooling. The research started from two aspects: the location gap and the gender gap. We finally got the conclusion: the education gap of Shaanxi province mainly conies from the internal disparity among the city, town and rural area, especially the internal disparity of the rural grouped by gender. Therefore, the rural education is still the key point of the whole education.
