Employees Absorptive Capacity: As the Result of Individual Behavior and Social Network Interaction
This essay discusses the relationship among employees behaviors, social network structure and employees absorptive capacity. It builds the knowledge transfer network between university and enterprise, and then measures the frequency of employees knowledge absorption, centrality and core-edge structure. Measuring results indicate (1) There are different classifications among researchers and employees; meanwhile, employees absorptive capacity is affected by classifications. (2) The employees centrality in network is affected by self-monitoring ability and employees absorptive capacity is affected by centrality.(3) The core structure is formed by the similar knowledge basis and demands among certain employees, which improves employees absorptive capacity. Therefore, the structures of network are the intervening variable connect employees behaviors with theirs absorptive capacity.
