An Analysis of Mechanics Shortage Phenomenon in Private Enterprises
This passage aims at analyzing the phenomenon of mechanics shortage and judging whether China is meeting Lewis Turning Point. Through the questionnaire survey in 15 talent markets and 415 private enterprises in eastern provinces, it was found on analysis that mechanics shortage becomes seriously in China particularly in small businesses. According to the survey, 29.7% private companies are facing the problem of mechanics shortage especially in junior mechanics and Intermediate mechanics shortage, which primarily caused by reduced income of labours. This suggests that China is approaching the Lewis Turning Point in labour supply. To settle this problem, private companies should increase workers payment and working environment. Local governments also need efforts to create favorable environment for employment and service.
