Research on Cooperative Management of Slow Moving Spare Parts for Process Industries

Inventory control of slow moving spare parts is one of the most important works for process industries. With good control, the cost-cuts and production could be ensured. Firstly, two major difficulties in inventory controls of slow moving spare parts are summarized, which are delimitation and demand forecast respectively. Based on analysis of management practices for process industries, a cooperative managing model of slow moving parts is presented. Lastly, a delimiting model based on the Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation is proposed, in consideration of both fuzziness and weight factors. By using the model, slow moving spare parts could be pulled from normal spare parts, building a solid foundation for cooperative management.
