SWOT Analysis on Building Chongqing into a Regional Financial Center
Building Chongqing into the regional financial center has many advantages: from the perspectives of longitude and latitude, Chongqing is just in the center of mainland China; it is the exclusive municipality directly under the central government in west China which has obvious advantages in sea, land and air transportation. Its financial scale and quality expand and improve greatly; moreover, it has strong industrial competitiveness. At the same time, Chongqing is faced with the great opportunities of creating national co-ordination test area and building Five Chongqing. However, it also exist disadvantages, such as the lack of financial concentration and radiation power, the relatively low degree of industrialization, the financial problems in rural areas, financing difficulties of medium-sized and small enterprises (MSEs), the high degree of homogeneity of financial products, and the lack of financial top talents and so on. It is also faced with other negative factors such as the strong competitions from Chengdu and Xian.
