Statistical Analysis on the Relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and the Shareholders Interests -An Empirical Study on Listed Companies
Since the Shenzhen Stock Exchange issued Social Responsibility Instructions to Listed Companies, which has first introduced social responsibility to listed company to encourage listed companies to fulfill their social responsibilities actively, listed companies fulfilling their social responsibility has become an important topic of corporate social responsibility. In this paper, we study the relationship between listed companies fulfilling their social responsibility and shareholders interests on the basis of stakeholder theory. Adding violations to the indicators of measuring social responsibility on the basis of previous studies, collecting data on 683 listed companies, using multivariate statistical analysis, we prove that the enterprise fulfilling their social responsibility for all stakeholders (except the staff) has a positive effect on maximizing the benefits for shareholders. This is critical for better understanding of social responsibility, re-establishment of corporate values, and has significance for corporate to undertake social responsibilities voluntarily.
