Statistical Inference for Attributable Risk in a Single 2 × 2 Table
Statistical inference for a single 2×2 table is commonly encountered in modern medicine study, various clinical trials and modern biological studies, where attributable risk is often used in epidemiology and health services research. In this paper, we propose a score test of hypothesis pertaining to the marginal and conditional probabilities in a single 2×2 table. Score test-based confidence interval will also be described. In addition, the performance of score test and likelihood ratio test is also evaluated in term of coverage probability, the left-tail error rate and right tail error rate. From empirical study, it is easily seen that the performance of the score test is better than that of the existing likelihood ratio test.
