Empirical Analysis on the Determinants of International Competitiveness of Chinas Financial Services Trade
Borrowing the methodology of Porters diamond model, the paper analyses the determinants of international competitiveness of Chinas financial services trade from five aspects, they are factor condition, demand condition, the relevant and support industry, enterprise organization, strategy, competition and the government function. Then, the paper selects 11 specific variables, makes an empirical analysis on the determinants of international competitiveness of Chinas financial services trade through the principal component analysis and regression analysis. It finds that among the 11 variables, only the variable of the propotion of assets of four state-owned commercial banks accounted for the banking industry has a negative effect on international competitiveness of Chinas financial services trade, the other variables all have positive effects. Among the affecting factors, the role of government is relatively the largest. This may be concerned with the current transition stage of Chinas economic development and the imperfect financial market.
