An Empirical Analysis in the Impact of Public Health Investment on Economic Growth
Since the investment in public health has double influence on the growth of regional economic, it is difficult to reveal the true influence of the investment in public health on the growth of regional economic, using the common regression method. In this paper, the related data of the province, municipalities and autonomous regions from 1998 to 2008 were used to build the PVAR model between the investment in public health and the growth of regional economic, and on this basis the interrelation between them was analyzed. The results showed that there was a long term and significant one-way causality between the investment in public health and the growth of regional economic, and in the long term, the former was the Granger reason that lead to the latter, while in the short term, the investment in public health and the growth of regional economic were reciprocal Granger reason, that is, there exists double causality between them.
