Effective Economic Growth and Improvement of Residents Quality of Life
This paper brings forward the concept of excess per-capita consumption and takes it as the main measurement index for subjective quality of life of residents. It designs a dynamic model of effective economic growth to study from a brand new aspect the effective economic growth and improvement of quality of life of residents in China in the past 30 years since the reform and opening-up, as well as the relation between them. The results show that the both the level and the structure of the quality of life of residents in China have been remarkable improved, at a rate consistent with effective economic growth. However, the low contribution of excess per-capita consumption will become a restriction against effective economic growth in China. Therefore, increasing the proportion of excess per-capita consumption, optimizing the structure of excess per-capita consumption and expanding the fields of excess per-capita consumption of rural residents may help to effectively increase domestic demand and realize sustainable effective economic growth and stable improvement of residents quality of life.
