Multi-task Incentive Mechanism on Rural Co-operatives
The co-operatives and the agricultural product processing enterprises both play important roles in the Agricultural supply chain. The co-operatives provide products to the enterprises, and then the enterprises sell them to customers. Because of the requirements of enterprise, the co-operative should not only consider the quantity of products he provides, but also be concerned about the quality and new types of products. The principal-agent theory is an effective technique to study the relationship between the principal and the agent. The contract between the co-operative and enterprise belongs to typical multi-task principal-agent. This paper analyzes incentive mechanism about the rural co-operatives with multi-task incentive theory. The conclusion shows that the incentive intensities are changed by the correlation between the marginal cost of tasks and whether the effort paid for the task is easily observed. The enterprise should take different focus on the different tasks to incentive the co-operative in order to obtain more benefit with smaller inputs due to different development stages.
