Analysis of the Impact of the Factors Put in Agricultural Production on the Development of Low-carbon Agriculture

Using the related statistical data in China between 1990 and 2008, this paper tests and analyses the inherent impacts among the factors put in agricultural production, agricultural economic growth and the development of low-carbon agriculture through the construction of econometric model between the factors put in agricultural production and the gross value of agricultural production. The main conclusions are as follows: (1) Among the factors put in agricultural production, the volume of used fertilizers, the agricultural mechanical power, the total area of cultivated crops and the consumption of intermediate materials have a prominent effect on gross value of agricultural production, among which the volume of used chemical fertilizer makes the greatest marginal contributions and is dominant. (2)The marginal productivity of agricultural energy consumption, irrigated area and labor input is negative, hindering the growth of the agricultural economy to some extent. (3) The excessive use of fertilizers and energy has been an important emission source in agricultural greenhouse gases. This becomes a main bottleneck with Chinas agriculture developing sustainably, healthily and in a low-carbon way.
