Using Winbugs to Calculate Bayesian Confidence Interval for the Difference of Two Proportions in the Matched-pair Design
Shi and Bai(2008, 2009)and Shi et al. (2009) in a series of papers suggested the Bayesian method to construct the confidence interval for some parameters in matched-pair designs. They derived the exact posterior distribution of these parameters and calculated the confidence intervals using Matlab code. One of interesting topic is what happened when using Winbugs, an very popular software of MCMC method, to conduct the computations, which is often asked by referees in reviewing. In this article we introduce how to calculate the Bayesian confidence interval for the difference of two proportions in the matched-pair design, and compare the results with that of Shi and Bai(2008).
