Crop production and soil fertility characteristics response to long term fertilization in a Udic Mollisols
Mollisols of Northeast China has a total area of 6 million ha, which is the world s third largest contiguous body of Mollisols. It plays an important role in food production of China. Long -term cultivation has led to changes in soil nutrient status and soil fertility. Understanding the crop productivity, and dynamic change of physical and chemical properties in the Chinese Mollisols is essential for the development of sustainable agricultural management. In order to study the fertility of the agricultural black soils, several long -term experimental designs involving agronomic practices were established in this region, and showed that crop yields and some soil physio chemistry or biochemisty characteristics were changed with different soil managements. The purpose of this study was to better describe the changes of comprehensive fertility characteristics in Chinese Mollisols under different fertilization managements.
