Study on a New Ocean Wave Energy Conversion Device
In view of the growing shortage of global energy, and in order to develop new, renewable and clean energy, a new ocean wave energy conversion device was designed. The device uses buoy to absorb wave energy, mechanical transmission to convert the absorption wave energy to rotation mechanical energy. The device can continuously generate electricity in the process of buoy up and down. This paper introduces the components and working principle of the device, and combined the knowledge of wave theory and computation theory, ocean wave energy conversion, mechanical design, uses the MATLAB software to compute and compare the conversion efficiency of device in the case of rectangular buoy and vertical circular cylinder buoy. Supposes the device is under the action of regular linear waves, through the theoretical calculation, under the conditions of the same wave height, wave period and the same weight of buoys, the conversion device which has a vertical circular cylinder buoy has higher conversion efficiency, the efficiency is up to 0.3943. The device has good conversion efficiency, and a broad prospect for development.
