The Historical Evolution of Chinas National Innovation System:Origins and Changing Structures
In this paper, the historical evolution of Chinas National Innovation System (CNIS) is divided into three stages which are the construction period of the national innovation system (1949 to 1978); the transition period after reform and opening up (1979 to 1992) and the reconstruction period in the socialist market economy (1992-present). The characteristic and the progress of each stage from the status and role of each innovation subject are analyzed, relevant recommendations of the development of the national innovation system are proposed.
