Analysis of the Impact of Foreign Trade on Hubeis Economic Growth

One of the important functions of foreign trade is to promote regional economic growth. This kind of impact is not uniform in the different region. The foreign trade of Hubei, which is an inland major province, grows very fast since China became a member of WTO. This paper implements statistical and quantitative method to analyze the effect of foreign trade to the economic growth of Hubei province with related data from 1985 to 2007. Positive correlation result is presented thereby the foreign trade of Hubei especially the export promotes the economic growth to a certain extent. Concerning of current serious financial crisis, relevant strategy is adopted to develop foreign trade and enhance its economy contribution and promotion.
