Cultural Inheritance and Innovation in Ancient Town Planning and Construction -Taking Shennongjia Muyu Ancient Town Landscape Planning for Example
This paper takes Shennongjia Muyu Town Landscape Planning and Design for example and explores matters of three aspects: first, in the conformation trend of town planning, how to play the coordinating role of the landscape and thus retain historical and cultural traces of each town; second, how to infuse the modern landscape planning and design context with traditional cultural elements so as to give new content to landscape, make the new and old buildings exist concurrently and harmoniously, continue historical memory and let the town be the carrier of its historical development; and third, a good living environment is the foundation for every contemporary peoples healthy and harmonious life in towns and cities. How to create a scientific living environment during the process of ancient town planning and construction? From multi-angles, we strive to study how to infuse historic environment with new life, give new content to landscape planning and continue peoples memory of the town history.
