Analysis of High Technology Firms Competition in Talent Market Based on Hotelling Model
R&D plays an important role in the innovation process which is increasingly vital to current and future profits for high technology firms. Naturelly, it is R&D talents that is intensely craved for the better being of a high technology firms growth and development. This paper examines the competition between high technology firms in the talent market based on the Hotelling spatial model. We aim to construct a modified Hotelling spatial model based on some hypotheses to study the impact of the employment cost rate and salary incentive mechanism on the firms equilibrium location in the Hotelling model. At last, we focus on the change rule of the equilibrium location affected by the mentioned factors and give some reasonable explanations.
