Analysis on the Factors of Logistics Industry in Henan Province
The main purpose of this paper is to explore the complexity of the logistics industry from the demand factors and supply factors, and analyze the key factors affecting industry development. A PCA model is applied to assess which influencing factors revealed higher logistics output. The data is limited to Henan province from 2002 to 2008, and 17 indexes are selected to reflect the output-input. On the basis of estimation process, the methodology of factor extraction and factor analysis are also adopted. The results indicate that economic development, logistics management and technology investment are principal factors, which contribute to logistics industry about 43.6%, 29.4% and 20.1% respectively. These three factors add up to 93.5% of explaining variables. The level of regional economy has a direct impact on logistics, it will determine the ultimate demand of logistics service. Besides, the logistics management and technology investment are still essential for boosting the logistics development.
