Research on the Mechanism of Hi-tech Enterprises Open Innovation on the Basis of Knowledge Chain
While open innovation is becoming an very important way to gain competitive advantages for tbe hi-tech companies including knowledge-intensive firms, many researchers and practitioners recognize the power of open innovation in the growth of enterprises. Knowledge is the key element in the process of enterprises open innovation. For exploring the mechanism of hi-tech firms open innovation based on the knowledge chain, Tencent Inc., a successful hi-tech firm in China, is investigated. The results highlight the closeness of the relationships between the competitiveness and open innovation on the basis of knowledge chain. The findings illustrate that an effective flow of enterprises knowledge should be accelerated for their successful open innovation. In this paper, the path of hi-tech firms open innovation is demonstrated that on the basis of mining the internal knowledge, the firms should absorb external knowledge actively and enhance its interior diffusion in the organizational atmosphere of encouraging innovation, knowledge-learning and knowledge-sharing.
