Temporal Variation of Biomass in Northern Changbai Mountain
Biomass study is of great significance in the global carbon cycle and global change research. This paper systematically studied the forest biomass changing trend in Northern Changbai Mountain combined with Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing based on Multivariate linear model. By the analysis of remote sensing data and ground-based ancillary data through four period (1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000 later) since the 1970s in northern Changbai Mountain, from number changes, time changes, multi-angel, multi-level reflection the changing trend of forest biomass in this area during the past 40 years, it revealed the major environmental problems. The results show that the biomass in northern Changbai Mountain had V-trend variation with time, and the biomass declined during 1970-1980 years mainly due to the late 1970s over-harvesting of forest, After 1980s as increase of the peoples forest protection awareness, forest area increased, so biomass gradually recovered. Biomass 2000 later, compared with 1970s there is still a gap.
