Dynamically Maintain The Teaching Examples of Triggers and Stored Procedures about The Course of Database Application

Triggers and stored procedures have an irreplaceable importance in the teaching process about the course of database application, as them can realized a complex program logic and can test students comprehensive application ability to SQL languages. At present, all kinds of management platforms of DBMS (such as the Enterprise Management) are still some inconvenient aspects: when the users want to input the description information of triggers and stored procedure, Enterprise Management appeared to be inadequate; when users want to track the modifiedprocess of triggers and stored procedures, EM did not provide such a feature; in particular, EM manages to triggers with dispersibility that cant to meet the needs of centralized management. These problems lead a teacher to difficult to manage the teaching examples library of triggers and stored procedures dynamically in the teaching process about the course of Database Applications. We developed a simple visual management platform(based on the C/S computing model) with SQL SERVER 2008 & Visual Basic 6.0, to realize the dynamic maintenance of triggers and stored procedures about the database of Student, which include: (1) to provide a user-friendly visual interface to show with concentration and query with detail information for triggers and stored procedures; (2) to input, query, and modify the description information of triggers and stored procedures; (3) to provide a user-friendly visual interface to track dynamically the modified, inserted, and deleted process to teaching examples of triggers and stored procedures. The results significantly increase the work efficiencies and improve the teaching effects to the teachers about the course of database application.
