Curriculum Programme of Career-oriented Java Specialty Guided by Principles of Software Engineering
It has always been a challenge to justify a professional Java curriculum setting because of the diversity of this technology. Guided by the principles of software engineering, a philosophicallevel solution is proposed. It suggests that JDBC course be excluded, and JSP course and SQL programming contents be simplified; in the mean time strengthen the learning of popular application framework and related software engineering theories. Compared to the pre-reformed curriculum system, the proposed programme covers more technological contents yet requires less class hour. Results on experimental class show that the proposed curriculum programme can lower the technical threshold while increase the practical ability of the students and the overall teaching effectiveness.
