An Adaptive Learning RPG Game-Engine Based on Knowledge Spaces

This paper presents our current work on combining adaptive learning and knowledge spaces with roleplaying games to build a platform for adaptive learning. The aim is to enhance the learning experience promoted to the player by personalizing the interactive scenarios in the game for each learner. The main focus is on dynamically adapting both content and delivery based on the players prior knowledge as well as the knowledge gained during the game. The players previous knowledge is first tested, after which the game will flow according to the results obtained. The evaluation schema applied to test the efficiency and success of our approach is also included along with some preliminary results.
