Correlation between evolution of HCV second envelope protein hypervariable region and titers of anti-F antibodies
This study is to explore the relationship between HCV HVR1 quasispecies and detection of anti-HCV-F antibodies. HCV quasispecies from 44 HCV patients were detected by single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) analysis of HVR1 in E2 region. Specific anti-HCV-F antibodies in sera of HCV patients were detected by indirect ELISA. The quasispecies bands of anti-HCV-F-positive and-negative were (5. 24±1. 98) and (2.24±1.06) (P<0.05), respectively. Thirty samples (68%) out of the 44 HCV patients were detected specific anti-HCV-F antibodies. In conclusion, the number of HCV quasispecies correlated with detection of anti-HCV-F antibodies and course of disease.
