Discovery of novel small molecules that inhibit Human tongue squamous carcinoma cells (Tca8113)

To identify novel inhibitors for human tongue squamous carcinoma, we screened the small Nutlins-like molecules for their efficacy against the cell line Tca8113 in vitro. Two novel cancer growth inhibitory compounds NL-11 and NL-19 were founded. They inhibited the proliferation of Tca8113 cells in a dose-dependent manner, and the effect mediated by inducing cell cycle arrest mainly in G2 phase. Flow cytometry demonstrated that the changes of the apoptotic cells exposed to increased concentrations of the NL-11 and NL-19 from early to late stage.
