Analysis of Alienation in Hemingways Short Stories Through Search Engine
Search Engine plays an important role in human beings work, study and life. People has greafly improved this systems ability of searching information and reduced the cost to a large degree. Therefore, there is no doubt that search engine is a typical mixture of computer technology, internet technology and search theory. Under the condition of common usage of internet, search engine was invented and it entered every persons life from the laboratory. Originally, search engine was used in portals, and after its success in this area, it was used almost in every field. Such fields ate not only some scientific fields, but also some literary fields. The thesis aims to analyze the theme of alienation in Hemingways short stories through me method of search engine. Hemingway is one of the most influential writers in American literary history during the 20th Century, so he is undoubtedly the focus of the researchers all over the world. But from all the researches on him, it is easy to find that criticisms are always focusing on his several long novels and his The Old Man and the Sea to show his unique writing style. As a matter of fact, his unique writing style is fully and exactly reflected by his short stories, too. So this thesis takes Hemingways short stories as the focus to give a brief introduction on his unique writing style and his principles of the short story writing in his prose. In addition, one of the underlying themes of the 20th Century writers reflects peoples increasing alienation from their families, communities and society. People have made plenty of analyses on Hemingway and his works, and compared with alienation, what have been mentioned and noticed more are his Iceberg Theory and his long novel The Old Man and the Sea. To be different, this thesis focuses on the theme of alienation in his short stories and his techniques to reinforce the theme.
