Evolutionary-economics on the Strategy of Technical Diversification and Multi-technology Innovation in SMB

In recent years the innovation of large companies has been characterized as technical diversification, i.e., multi technology innovation. This means a challenge to SMB. Based on a comprehensive review on the relative theories, this article redesigns the issue on technical diversification from the view of evolutionary economics and establishes a framework with several key concepts such as routine, search and selection to analyze multi-technology innovation of SMB. Based on the evolutionary e conomics, the framework shows us four strategic models for technical diversification of SMB. We explain the two of them with several instructive conclusions.
