The Impact of Motivation on Employee Innovative Behavior: An Empirical Study of Zhejiang Province in China
A model of total motivation systems in which internal motivation, awards and rewards, organizational innovative climates were integrated to analyze the effect of these systems on employeesinnovative behavior is proposed. Three hundred and fifty three employees from high technology industries of Zhejiang Province in China participated in the study. The data were collected with a survey questionnaire. As hypothesized, the results of Hierarchical multiple regression analysis suggested that internal motivation, awards and rewards, organizational innovative climates were significantly and positively related to employee innovative behavior. The results also showed that there was a positive and significant interaction effect between internal motivation and awards and rewards for employee innovative behavior. Implications are discussed.
