Internal Synergy and Innovation within Parent-subsidiary Corporations

Parent-subsidiary relationship is an internal relationship in the process of firm growth, which also exists in the small and medium enterprises. Currently, one big problem in the development of Parent-subsidiary Corporations is that the synergy and collaboration between parent company and its various subsidiaries are ignored, or the degree of synergy is not high, thus greatly affecting the full play of Parent-subsidiary Corporationsoverall advantage and also hindering corporate innovation. This paper, with the proposition of internal synergy composed of organizational synergy and knowledge synergy within Parent subsidiary Corporations, conducts research on how internal synergy influences innovative performance of Parent-subsidiary Corporations. It reveals the nature of the relationship between synergy and innovation, which has practical implications for improving the Parent-subsidiary Corporationslevel of synergy and innovation.
