Firms Human Capital Investment and Wage Differential
Whether firms human capital investment enlarges or narrows wage differential is an important issue in the public policy eyes. The impact of firms human capital investment on wage differential is studied in this paper, using Zhejiang Economic Census Data for the year 2004. In the manufacturing enterprises, employee attaining more education will receive more human capital investment, and firms human capital investment will result into the expansion of wage differential. It showed that firms in pursuit for efficiency first will not provide equal investment opportunity to low-educated employees. The public policies will focus on the shortage of equity induced by firms pursuit for efficiency.
