The Key Influencing Factors of the Entrepreneurial Environment in Xiamen City: Empirical Analysis Based on Data of the GEM in 2007
This paper starts from a framework of entrepreneurial environment evaluation which is established by the Global Entrepreneurial Monitor (GEM). It then proposes research hypotheses about the influencing factors of the entrepreneurial environment in Xiamen City, and tests each hypothesis. According to the urban experts investigation data of China Entrepreneurship Monitor (CEM) in 2007, we verify the research hypotheses. The results show that financial backing, government projects, entrepreneurial support as well as commercial and professional infrastructure become the key factors which influence the entrepreneurial environment in Xiamen City. Finally, this research puts forward suggestions for improvement of the entrepreneurial environment in Xiamen City in view of the above four key factors.
