Splitting process of bamboo laminated material with center lube system

Bamboo top layer of flooring is manufactured by splitting bamboo laminated material into several slats. As the raw material, the bamboo laminated material is expensive. Its necessary to develop thin saw kerf technology for a higher yield rate. However, there are some technical difficulties. For example, the saw body gets damaged by the split material and snaking due to resin adhesion, which eventually results in defective products. We at Kanefusa researched and examined the potential effectiveness of the center lube system, whereby a lubricant is sprayed from the inside of the saw body to reduce friction heat and resin adhesion. We demonstrated that we can split the bamboo laminated material by thinner saw blades with about the same cutting life as thicker saw blades. Moreover, the yield rate improved up to 80％ from 68％ of the conventional saw blade.
