The Effect of Knife Heating on Thick Veneer Quality during Longitudinally Slicing

摘要：

A new technique of slicing thick veneer by heating slicer was introduced. The slicer temperature was measured using infrared thermography. The effects of back checking rate and surface roughness of sliced veneer were measured by heating slicer, the back checking rate was decreased by 20％,and the surface roughness was improved by 15-25％ compared to room normal temperature slicing.
