Size Distribution of Heat-treated Mongolian Oak Sawdust

An initial study was carried out to determine the influence of heat treatment on dust emission of Mongolian Oak.The results show that heat-treated wood generates more fine dusts when machined. Heat treatment in pressurized steam has a greater influence on the variation of size distribution of wood dust than treatment in atmospheric steam. Current frequency or spindle speed of the blade clearly influences the size distribution of emitted dust. A higher spindle speed means more fine dust emission.
